This piece is based on "Dissociative disorder " when kids have gone through a trauma they go elsewhere mentally to protect their emotional state . I made it using a few layers . I started with the background using shimmer mist sprays and acrylic paint dabbers and watercolour markers. Then I painted the bubbles lightly and then added glossy accents to them to make the bubbles look realistic & shiny. I then drew both girls on separate pieces of paper ( one girl is in her underwear to show her vulnerability and the other girl Is an older child who is naked but only shown from the top half to show her vulnerability & her growth ) I then glued them onto the pages . I then painted around the girls to give them an aura to show they were in a dreamlike state using a mix of Gesso & watercolour Markers .
