13.'Visually impaired in Venice' 2015.

The Brief: ' A personal response to Venice'.

This project was completed only a month ago - 'Visually Impaired in Venice'. I spent a week in Venice with my 'Foundation Course' peers.

Whilst in Venice i became fascinated by sensory language and my own sense of touch. I realised after a few days of being among the spectacular sights of architecture, water and food, I wanted to work from the perspective of someone who would experience Venice blind.

Leading me to question the world of the visually impaired. Immersed by the beauty of drawing, I wanted to challenge how the depths and surface of drawing could be experienced by a visually impaired person.

'Visually impaired in Venice' 2015 was created through learning braille, use of transparent materials like dissolvable fabrics, glue and acetate as well as drawing with my sense of smell with tomato paste, garlic, cheese.
