Flaushi & Friends (Mostly Off)
Prally the Eurasian Great Tit Bird
This shot was taken directly on my terrace and is meant for the amazing pekabo90401. Zooming in is recommended to better see the velvety texture of Prally's lovely head feathers ;-)
The German word "prall" pronounced "prahl" translates to plump or chubby in English. A no-brainer of a nickname for this incredibly round and cute little chap who captured my heart in a storm back in May. He also happens to be the most trusting of his lot and very sweet-tempered.
Here we go again with yet another "Buddha Bird." They keep coming out of the woodwork around my terrace! My neighbors think it must be something in the water. I somehow doubt that my double-filtered water in the birdbath is the secret ingredient. But, maybe there is some extra magnetic pull or pole right under the terrace tiles ;-)
Prally and Mrs. Prally are still inseparable and clearly very much in love. She was even fluttering her wings and begging for food from her hubby the middle of August, long after the young ones had flown the nest and many months after the courting ritual is over for the parents! She is just as cute and round as her hubby plus also has his sweet disposition!
DJ Daisy the Great Tit is part of the colorful entourage of the crested tit Maxine in the upcoming picture book series, "Flaushi the Buddha Jay." Sporting a fine gold necklace with her name on it and a baseball cap, she leads the chickadee rap in the first book.
The series is based on my very special and completely wild Eurasian jay Flaushi and all of his friends on and around my enchanted terrace.
