Stokksnes in the snow
The Stokksnes peninsula in southeast Iceland is characterized by a spectacular landscape: grassy dunes of black sand, quiet lagoons, the roaring North Atlantic and, to the north, the majestic Vestrahorn. A paradise for photographers all year round. In winter you can photograph the Northern Lights, and in summer spectacular sunsets. Sunrises in winter are a little difficult because the sun rises opposite the mountain. Often clouds around the mountain are still illuminated, but on this morning the real spectacle actually took place in the south, as rain showers repeatedly passed by the rising sun. With an HDR panorama shot made up of a total of 36 individual images, I was able to capture the entire scene with the snow-covered dunes in the foreground.
