I had already attempted to photograph the wave of fog in the Basel area in the autumn. When you get up at three o'clock and drive 200 km, it is of course always annoying when nothing comes of it. But it is very difficult to correctly assess the local conditions from a distance. I was all the more pleased when the second attempt was much better. At first it did not look like it would be. At first the fog flowed a little over the ridge on the right, but it was still too dark for good pictures. Then the fog subsided and I feared that it might be over. But after a short time the fog rose again and flowed first over the ridge, later over the mountain tops and flowed far into the valley. And it never stopped flowing...
