fog in the morning

We often have high inversion fog on Lake Constance. Then visibility on the ground is not impaired, but a monotonous grey sky hangs above. This is not very good for photography. Dense ground fog is a completely different matter. Unfortunately we have this less often around my hometown, but it is usually very photogenic. It limits visibility to a few metres, hides distant objects, subjects close up are isolated, and completely new perspectives arise. Recently there was this thick fog in the morning. It would have been particularly beautiful if the sunrise had been visible above it. But you can't have everything. Photography is not a bed of roses.
