San Gian
The little church of San Gian is the landmark of Celerina in the Upper Engadine. The current church building dates from 1478, but there was a Romanesque predecessor church, of which the tower (the smaller of the two towers) still remains. The striking, roofless, late Gothic tower was badly damaged by a lightning strike in 1682 and was never rebuilt. The church looks particularly picturesque in autumn amidst colorful trees.
