Polar Express
The red train of the Rhaetian Railway on the Landwasser Viaduct in an otherwise monochrome snow-covered landscape is a very attractive motif. Getting the timing right is a little difficult: the snow should be quite fresh so that it is still on the trees, it shouldn't be snowing heavily otherwise you won't see anything and there should be no wind so that the snow stays on the trees. Since the bridge is at an altitude of around 1,000 meters, there is no longer any snow there all winter long and if the conditions are right, you obviously still have time...
The 65 meter high viaduct was built in 1901/1902, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008 and is the landmark of the Rhaetian Railway.
