Gowns of satin and gossamer twirled, tailcoats of cotton and silk trailing not far behind. Goblets filled to the brim with red liquid gold. Jovial chortle and shouts echoing through the corridors. Masks of whimsy, tragedy, and mystery adorn elegant ladies and gents. They danced and drank to their heart’s contents as the festivities of Samhain raged on.
”Wear this! Wear this! You can not come without one!”
Spinning and spinning, a drunken stupor for those present. The outside world nothing more than a trifle. This world was another of immoral beauty. This ball was a chance to forget your woes and wallows. Drinking the nectar of frivolous notings, music that would keep your feet aloft, and a mask to hide yourself until morn.
”Signorina! Dance! Dance! Forget your troubles! Stay and dance with us...!”
Consequences be damned.... For this was a dance of the damned....
