The Onion

this is an architecture project that tries to overcome some of the difficult living conditions in Tanzania.

I will try to analyze what historical meaning a tent as 'a thing' has had, and then try to talk about the proces of 'material becoming a thing' when we add meaning to it.

maybe you could even say, that the architect is like a craftsmen?

and.. is there a difference between the tent as 'a thing' in a danish context and in a Tanzanian context? and does a tent, made by danish architects, have a postcolonial impact in a Tanzanian context?

I wonder why the name 'The Onion' is speciel in this spectacular project... and how the material once again only became material when the project was finished.
