After visiting Robin Hoods stride, I decided I had plenty of time left to visit another hilltop...I chose Fin cop, situated on a Limestone crest looking down across Monsal dale. Another interesting hill with plenty of history connected with it. The top was home to an Iron age hillfort which archaeologists claim to be the site of a massacre.Nine Skeletons of Women and children have been unearthed up there, Experts claim that there may be hundreds of skeletons buried here.More interest lies further down the hill in the shape of a cave, Hob Hursts cave.It is said to have been the home of a giant that possessed great and mysterious power...this strange fellow was never seen during the day but would come out at night visiting local farms where he did the work of 10 farm labourers...It's said that Farmers would pay him with a bowl of cream.
