The Meerfelder Maar

This is the "Meerfelder Maar", a non-active volcanic crater, that has now filled with water, thus forming a lake. Meerfeld is the name of the village that is just visible in the background. This lake, and several others, is situated in the Volcanic Eifel region, in Germany.

We walked all round this lake, enjoying the sunshine and the views.
