On a walk we saw frogs that had started their mating ritual, with the male riding on top of the female. This 'hug' is called amplexus and can last for hours, for days, or even longer! The male frog waits for the female to lay her eggs, and at that point he fertilizes them and loosens his grip. Before this happens, the female carries the male everywhere she goes ...
