Malmesbury Abbey
Malmesbury Abbey: the wonderful Norman nave survived for almost 900 years!
This is the third abbey to stand in this site, and it dates from 1180. At some point it boasted the highest spire in England but the spire and other parts have collapsed, though these remnants have their charm as well, as you can see from previous photos in my stream.
