Code Pink bus

This was just parked along the march route. If you don't know, Code Pink are "Women for Peace". You might have seen some of them on the news - during General Petraeus' report to Congress last week, a few women dressed in pink started screaming at him and the panel leaders. They were dragged away by Capitol police. They say they have Code Pink members at every Congressional hearing on the hill, monitoring what's said. I find that admirable.

They were rudely loud during the pre-March rally though. At one point, a military mother was reading a letter from her son who's still serving in Iraq. It was incredibly moving - him describing his friends in a picture he'd sent her. Of the 6 marines in the picture, he was the only one left. Some had been killed, 1 horribly injured, 1 back home addicted to heroine, 1 in prison for beating his wife and child after returning from war. He asked his mother to help end this war. But the Code Pink ladies were so into their chants for an end to the war, it was hard to hear the military mother speak. I didn't appreciate that at all.
