Great Sand Dunes National Park. A view from the top of the dunes. This was a magical time. The light was bursting through the clouds and casting ethereal light and shadow across the dunes. I have so many pictures of this I'm working through, I just don't know what to do with them. I'm trying to put them out in small doses...but there are so many, I'll be posting them for years! Anyhow, I keep coming back to my shots of the dunes because it was such an extraordinary place. I met a photographer at the top--who had also made the arduous trek--and we sat together in silence for about 5 minutes, without awkwardness, just taking it all in.
