PERDIO TRANSISTOR SEVEN, Circa 1958, Made in England by Perdio Electronics Ltd., London.

An attractive receiver with a black leather case, it seems to be the luxury version of this model, with two bands (BC/LW) selectable by a switch located on the left side. The ON-OFF / VOL control is unusually located at the top, partially covered by the handle to carry, in addition on the back has connections for AERIAL antenna and PHONE or TAPE. The metal dial knob has some stains but in general it has been well preserved as well as the fabric covering the speaker grill.

The PERDIO PC16 chassis that has this receiver was used by Perdio for several other models like: Piccadilly, Super 7, Park Lane and Londoner. It has seven Mullard germanium transistors, some Made in Holland: OC44, (2) OC45; and others British Made: OC81D, OC71, (2) OC81. It uses a 9V battery (Eveready 246) and still works very well on original components.

On the James Butters website, there is a very good reference on the manufacturer and these receiver models: www.jamesbutters.com/perdiopiccadilly.htm
