Musashi Musume

I'd found a brand new book at the library by Michael Korda about the Battle of Britain and was eagerly looking forward to reading it, and then suz1212 posted her pic of nautical naughtiness with a hula hooker captioned "Me love you loooong time, Joe" at www.flickr.com/photos/twelvehearts/3622454249/ and I felt the need to make some comment about her wanting to know if the battleships would be in harbor Sunday, and the next thing I knew Korda's BoB book had gone by the wayside and I was a hundred-some-odd pages into Toland's "Infamy" again, and now I'm better than halfway through a re-reading of Prange's "Miracle at Midway" and have Spector's "Eagle Against the Sun" in the on-deck circle.

Then too, I opened the garage door not long afterward, saw that three-foot long model of the Musashi I'd bought my Dad 25 years ago and he'd never built, and for the hundredth time told myself I really ought to get off my gaijin butt and build it myself. And, after a winter that seemed to hang on forever, it finally got warm enough for us and the people behind us to put up our inflatable pools.

In SirBasilland, this 'toon is what is known as "the logical outcome".

Of course, I'm sure repeatedly watching that clip from "Otoko Tachi no Yamato" at www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUl1mAjTTb0 may have had something to do with it. I swear, every time those 18-inchers let go I feel like my nose is going to bleed (okay, okay--eighteen-point-one-inchers for you purists out there).

PS--for those who may not consider this quite patriotic enough for a 4th of July posting, please note that little Marcie Mitscher there has on her red, white and blue bikini (you may have to view at the large size).
