Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles, California - One of three African wild dogs (one male and two females) who were born on 11/7/14 at the Oklahoma City Zoo in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and who moved to the Los Angeles Zoo in 2016.
The dogs were rejected by their mother, Xena, and were initially raised by a golden retriever named Lilly alongside her own puppy, Uno. They are named Ayana ("beautiful flower"), Zahra ("flowering") and Maji ("water lily") in tribute to their African heritage and surrogate mother.
