Maligne Lake, Jasper with just a trace of the Northern Lights

Jasper National Park, AB

I was in Jasper for 8 days during the "Jasper Dark Sky Festival". I was there for a dark sky photography workshop (Jeff Bartlett - www.jeffbartlettmedia.com/ & Jack Fusco - www.jackfusco.com/). It was absolutely wonderful & the weather was great for the most part. I have never seen so many stars in the sky!

Jasper was designated as a Dark Sky Preserve by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, due to its limited light pollution that creates ideal conditions for dark sky viewing.

There were many events taking place in Jasper during the festival some of which included space talks by the Kelly Brothers (Astronauts & identical twin brothers) who discussed their extraordinary careers & life perspectives in their talk and a panel of astronomers, astronauts & scientists.
