U.S. Auctions- ESD Trucks

Once again I returned to U.S. Auctions, a private auction company, to see what Refuse Trucks will be auctioned off. I knew several ASL’s and a mini Amrep MSL, would be at the auction. I was looking forward to seeing a mini Amrep MSL, which looked great and was in good shape. This auction was pure ESD trucks, (12) 2007 Amrep ASL’s and (1) mini Amrep Octo MSL. Unfortunately the ESD ASL’s were not in great shape, and all of them sold for under $6,500 each. As you can see in the pictures and video, the trucks are covered in rust (including the inside of the hopper) and some had missing arms. What surprised me was that some of the trucks were completely full of Green Waste and others had bags of trash in the body and dangling from the arm. I believe these trucks would be in better condition if they were washed down regularly like Waste Management of El Cajon, who has some of the cleanest trucks, some of which are almost twice as old as these ESD trucks.
