If it wasn't for "Waddington's" written on the box, I would probably have passed this one by.

Other than the name, the piece count, and "No. 107" in small text in the upper right corner of the picture there is no information given about the puzzle on the box.

Ultimately I was pleased that I did pick it up, as it turned out to be an interesting little puzzle, worked on over the course of a day.

Built in the traditional manner, assembling the edges first before moving on to the interior. Subjects such as the horses and riders stood out, as did the yellow band of sky near the middle of the picture.

Areas such as the sky and the lower left quarter are largely a shape-matching exercise. When working with irregular shaped pieces such as these, I tend to begin with the larger pieces and fit those where I can, working down to the smaller pieces to complete.

There is a signature in the lower left corner of the puzzle, which reads something like "Wright Ra?ker" where the unknown character looks like a 'v' or an 'x', neither of which fit with the surrounding letters to form a name. I've tried a few searches for painters of hunt scenes, and a reverse image search of the completed jigsaw, but without success.

I would be interested to know what painting this is, if only for my records.

Bought more jigsaws…
