The Smallest

 

You hear God speak

and you see God in action

not in the lives of men

with their closed minds

and selfish hearts,

their souls too deeply entrenched;

but in the smiling faces, the voices

the breath and heart beats

of the smallest.

God is here among us

in the open, tender souls

of the children.

It is our doing

our growing away

instead of up

that silences the voice and

blurs the vision

of his presence within.
