A Pheasant Surprise

You may remember a few months ago I took a shot of this rock structure www.flickr.com/photos/137633664@N05/47487898682/in/datepo... (β€œPassports Please”) on my stream.πŸ€”

I did mention when conditions were right it would be nice to return with an assistant who could maybe stand in the right hand opening in order to give a sense of scale. Also for said person to hold a chiffon scarf into the wind for a theatrical look, if you get my drift.πŸ’ƒ

After persuading my assistant to carry out this duty, she obviously needed to be suitably attired and look her very best on camera.

So I purchased a set of John Deere tractor drivers overalls from the local branch of β€˜Mole Valley Farmers’ and we set off for North Devon.πŸ‘—

The location itself is accessed down through a large wooded area. What was about to happen next is what these adventures are all about, suddenly we were greeted by one or two pheasants, then more and more until there must have been two hundred of them, but not only this, they walked all the way in front of us to the beach.🐧🐦

It was a situation that you just had to be there as it was just so funny, then they were gone just as quickly as they had gathered.πŸ˜‚

So down to business and get a couple of shots, except the higher than expected low tide made it too dangerous for my assistant to take up her Baywatch style pose in one of the rock openings, albeit with her John Deere overalls on.πŸ‘ΉπŸ™ˆ

We respect the power of the sea very much, so it is better to err on the side of caution and make another visit.πŸŒŠπŸŒŠπŸŒŠπŸ˜‡

The rock itself is approximately 90-100 feet high, the right hand opening is aprox 30ft high x 15ft wide. The left hand opening is aprox 40ft high x 5 feet wide.β›°πŸ—»πŸŒ‹

Now incredibly as we made our way up through the woods yep, the pheasants appeared and again they lead the way up the track.

Bear in mind it was getting dark, so it would be soon time for these birds to roost, then gradually one by one they just quietly slipped off back into the woods. Something we will never forget.🐦🐧😴😴😴

As always I really appreciate the time you take to view and comment on my shots.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do taking them.

Have a lovely weekendπŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸŽπŸ·πŸ»πŸ»πŸ»πŸ·πŸ·πŸ·πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
