" TITANIC GHOST "

The Titanic was built at the "Haarland and Wolfe" shipyard in Belfast N.I.

She set sail on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England on the 10th of April 2012 before calling at Cobh, Cork, Ireland. She struck an iceberg off Newfoundland, Canada, on the 15th of April with the loss of over 1500 lives.

There were many immigrant`s who sailed on her to America, hoping to build a better life for themselves and their families.

This was one such man, John William who came from Belfast.

 

" When last I saw John William, A young man full of pride,

To have his bride of just four days,

Stand shyly by his side,

He laughed and slapped me on the back,

Saying boyo cant you see,

For Ive seen the last of windswept bogs,

And bogs the last of me,

And the peelers and the landlords,

And the risings of the moon,

In far off New York town

They say theres lots of work there,

I envied you, John William, you, and your lovely bride,

To be sailing on this might ship,

Across the ocean wide,

For shes the finest liner that was ever built by man,

And they say theres none can sink her,

Not even God`s own hand,

Man`s pride can be his own down fall,

And the big ship sailed from home,
