" The Rocks of Bawn "
The white { Bawn } graniite rocks lie half buried on the pathway leading to Slieve Donard, Mournes, NI. so you have to watch your step. The surface is like this [and worse] all the way up. The path rises continually right up to its summit [ 853m ] which is reached up through the " saddle " in the distance and then turning left [ east ] up along the Mourne Wall. It is fairly unique to have a mountain rise continually from sea level right to its top. As the song say, the "Mountains of Mourne [really do] sweep down to the Sea".
I find the place awe inspiring and this was my first time ever visiting there. Now if only the legs hold out for a few more years I might climb most of them!
I hope you enjoy the photo and have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs n Best wishes to all of you, along this World`s rocky pathways!
