" The Storm "

Hurricane "Ophelia" strikes the north Dublin coast at Donabate beach. Wind speed were up to 156 kph so it was pretty severe.

It was invigorating being out in it though and I was quite safe as I just had to walk across a treeless and power cable free empty golf course to get to the beach. There was a sandstorm being whipped up by the wind and the rain came down in sheets. It was difficult to stand!

Three people were killed by the storm and it could have been a lot worse. The emergency service were wonderful and rescued and helped so many people. It took up to three weeks to restore electricity to the entire country.

Is it wonderful how this type of thing brings out the best in people! It takes somthing like this for us to rally round one another.

Do hope you like my photo and that you all weather lifes storms with the help of your true friends.
