Clark's Grebe

Note that the Clark's Grebe has black on the head situated well above the eye and is sporting an orangish bill. Whereas the Western Grebe has black that extends well below the eye and has a much darker and yellowish bill. When seen together, the Clark's is smaller that the Western Grebe. Both species share a similar range in the Western U.S.. They occasionally associate with one another and can readily hybridize.
