Susan Penhaligon

For British viewers with very long memories that go way back to the early 1970s, they would surely remember this long forgotten homegrown gorgeous stunner on tv shows and British films throughout the decade and into the best part of the 1980s. I've already declared on my collection with the viewpoint that the very delectable shapely sexpot actress Susan George was the sexiest British actress of the 1970s I've ever seen. Well Susan Penhaligon was one such beauty that had everything in her arsenal to challenge Susan George in many "battle of the blonde bombshells" comparisons at the heights of their 1970s careers. Both very similar looking (Penhaligon is a year older than Susan George who was born in 1950) with sexy round elfin faces and very desirable womanly figure that wore very little in films when cast as the sexy maneater, the vulnerable damsel in distress, or the hot looking honey trap. There was a bevy of British beauties on tv during the 1970s but it was Susan Penhaligon that the hottest looking actress that ran Susan George that close in pure sex appeal. Penhaligon was actually born in Manila, Philippines in 1949 while her father was working there abroad. She was taken back home to England with her parents when she was six to start her formal education and from aged 11 her bug for acting began. Her professional acting credits started in 1970 on television and 1971 in her debut film and three years in just that one year, the best being the minor classic "Private Road" (1971). After this year, her screen career took off and has stayed busy in acting ever since even though you'd never realised you've seen her in anything in the last 25 years due to being a decent supporting actress and never hitting the big time. You might say she got typecast very quickly on account of her stunning good looks that was perfect for the 1970s and 1980s male gaze. Notable acting credits she does have under her belt is "Bouquet of Barbed Wire" (1976) opposite the great actor "Frank Finlay" and the following year the very juicy part of the ill fated "Lucy Westenra" who becomes Dracula's first victim getting chomped on by and played by the legendary Hollywood actor "Louis Jourdan" in what is without doubt the finest screen adaptation of Bram Stoker's "Count Dracula" (1977) in dreaded tone and "Jourdan's" magnificent icy cool performance as the Count. Made and produced by the old BBC before they became the misandrist cesspool corporation they are today. Susan is now 72 years old and still acting. *above pic of gorgeous Susan from 1975 and definitely not shy in putting her best assets forward that that wowed the decade. A crime that her bits are shaded out and not my doing whatsoever of course.
