Inverted Rays DSC_2560
The day we arrived at Sea Lake, we were shown some amazing images of the Southern Aurora take from the platform at Lake Tyrrell. We were hoping it would re-appear but that wasn't to be.
However, on one of the nights when the rain stopped just before sunset, along with another storm front and some rainbows, something freaky happened to the sky.
I now know these are anticrepuscular or antisolar rays which converge in the opposite direction to crepuslcular rays. The rays appear to converge towards the antisolar point, the point on the sky sphere directly opposite the sun.
Not the aurora but pretty spectacular.
I probably wont get to comment on your images sorry as I am feeling unwell again. Hoping just a temporary set back.
