Dove Lake Delight DSC_3643
Dove Lake is often considered the Jewel in the Crown of Cradle Mountain and is one of its main attractions. It is a glacially carved lake situated directly beneath the towering spires of Cradle Mountain. Covered by fog in this image but I will upload another when for a brief time I had blue skies.
It provides a stunning photographic opportunities if you are there at the right time of day under the right conditions (which I wasn’t). The carpark for the Lake is currently closed for renovations so you can only travel as far as Ronny Creek and you have to travel by a visitor bus between the hours of 8 am-6 pm. An awe-inspiring place. The Dove Lake circuit walk takes you on a 6 km walk around the entire Lake.
I can't wait to return in August in winter, to hopefully see it covered in snow.
