Thanks to permanent springs in this area, the dam on my friends farm has always been full, at least as long as I can remember.
Unfortunately this is not the case in many parts of Australia at the moment where the drought has taken its toll, particularly in NSW where water levels are so low, all that is left in many dams is boggy ground where Kangaroos get stuck and die a slow an agonising death.
This beautiful property in the Strathbogie Ranges supports a vast array of wildlife with many large and small mammals calling it home. My friend's son sets up a night vision camera and has recorded all sorts of critters, including Phascogales.
