Mons Nov 11 1918 - The "Leigham" Jig Saw Puzzle

Celebrating peace in 1918!

I really enjoyed doing this one and it wasn't easy ... the artwork and the cutting combined to confuse!

The hand-written title on the box has "Nov 11, 1918" written just above and following it, so im assuming this was part of the title that didn't quite fit into the space the box label allowed.

Interesting to see the Japanese flag apparently being carried by one horse-backed soldier - so more of a propaganda piece than a true depiction of a Belgian armistice celebratory scene, i think?

Plywood

358 pieces

15.25" x 10.25"

From The Jigasaurus (partially from the box label):

"Based at 268, Knight's Hill, West Norwood, London, S.E.27 and run by Fred A. Hedger, the "Leigham Puzzle Club" wooden jigsaw puzzles were beautifully colour line cut to make them very challenging. It would seem that Mr Hedger cut puzzles for both retail and rental purposes."
