Bobcat posing for portrait

I looked out the window and saw what I thought looked like a cat shape in the snow across the street.

Then, it moved! It WAS a cat. A beautiful bobcat. Look at that amazing winter coat....I just want to reach out and pet it....

I grabbed my camera and ran outside. I stayed on this side of the street as I didn't want to scare it off... because at first it was not just sitting there. It was digging in the snow trying to get at a mouse or something... and, jumped here and there a few times...I just quietly walked as close as I thought I could without frightening him/her....

Then, he noticed me and just sat there ...looking at me ..and, after another minute in which he let me take several photos... he hopped over a snowbank and was gone.

He is far enough away that it is not the most crisp photo after cropping...... but, still pretty decent.

I love the calm look on its face....

My brother is still in hospital... but, has been moved from the ICU ... is still trying to make sense of his accident and what has happened and slowly coming out of the brain fog. It is going to be a long road for us all it seems.

He lost so much weight of course, because he was unable to eat, being intubated, and still seems to be unable to eat much ... so is very weak physically as well...but, wonder of wonders....he managed to stand up the other day with help and the aid of a walker.....
