The La Sals over Arches National Park

Devils Garden Primitive Loop; Arches National Park, Utah; March 2018

The first half of the primitive loop up to this moment looking out over Arches toward the La Sal Mountains was spectacular—we started early enough for very few other people on the trail, beautiful views, and perfect weather. On the way back, however, dodging the big groups taking group shots on the narrow fins the trail follows put me in a grouchier mood, and we ended up booking it the last half mile as the real mass of people started to pour up the trail. My mind jumps to embrace Edward Abbey's prejudices at moments like this, and I was thinking about his feelings about Arches National Moneymint the whole drive out. It really isn't a big place, and so many people want to see it.
