Bengal Tiger (Shanti)
Shanti is very playful! She is 11 yrs old.
I got a wonderful gift today, the animal care manager / keeper Shelli had a few extra minutes and asked if I wanted to go behind the scenes with her. What a great experience, to see some of the workings of the zoo-- stables, treatment areas, night quarters. Etc. We first saw Nile the hippo and let him into the yard. Then I saw the bongo area, then on to the tigers. I was able to feel Shanti tiger's paw and her fur. And get a few pics of Morte from a different angle.
