Asus Announces Another New Low-End Slate in India

After revealing the availability details of its long-awaited ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG), Asus also announced another low-end slate dubbed ZenPad 8.0 (Z170CG) in India with a price tag of INR 14,999. Much like the ZenPad 7.0, the newcomer comes with an optional Audio Cover which costs INR 3,000 extra.
The highlights of the voice-calling ZenPad 8.0 are similar as ZenPad 7.0:
1. DTS-HD Premium Sound technology which offers 5.1-channel surround sound.
2. Interchangeable cover design which lets user customize the slate looks with functional back covers.
3. Zen Clutch carry case.
4. Zen Case which features leather build.
5. Power Case which extends the battery life of slate up to 15 hours.
The ZenPad 8.0 (Z170CG) features an 8 inch LED backlit IPS display with 1280×800 pixels of resolution and comes with 16GB of on-board storage which is expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD. The slate features an 8 megapixels autofocus shooter on its rear, while a 2 megapixels camera is placed at its front for selfies and video calls. The slate measures 209x123x8.5mm in dimensions marking 350 grams on the weighing scale.
Powering the ZenPad 8.0 (Z170CG) is a 64-bit architecture-based Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC which packs an octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Connectivity options on the slate include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 4G, Micro-USB, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Further, the slate is backed by a 15.2Whr battery which is able to deliver 9 hours of usage on a single charge.
