Video Title: Introduction to Iaido, part 5: The Bokken

Time: 0:20-0:42

The video shows a Man using a Japanese styled weapon to slice horizontally and diagonally at to demonstrate cutting techniques. I like this as a reference as it provides a way of seeing how different cutting motions look from the same angle. Also because the man performs the motion slowly initially before doing a faster variant, it helps get an idea to where the most extreme points are in the animation. The downside to the clip is that it’s only done from a singular angle which limits my knowledge on what the swing looks like from multiple directions and the swings lack the speed I want to use in my animation.

Video Title: Dark Souls 2 Showcase! Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword!

Time: 4:09-4:20

The video shows the player wielding the Pursuer’s Ultra Greatsword. The Weapon has a large weight to its swings as evidenced by the exaggeration at the end of the swing’s arc. I like this one as it captures the weight and speed of the animation I want as well as the exaggerated motion that goes into it. However like the second clip it also suffers from only being from one angle which limits how I view how the character moves.

Video Title: Monster Hunter X Long Sword Gameplay Weapon Demo

Time: 1:43-1:52

The video shows a Hunter wielding a Long Sword and performing some of the basic attacks you can use in the game. I like this clip as it not only provides multiple different attack animations but all of them are quite fast and well exaggerated at the end of the swing also the movement itself is quite graceful. However whilst it provide not only multiple attacks and camera angles, it never shows the same motion twice in a different perspective and also due to the game being a Portable handheld game the graphical quality makes it more a challenge to pinpoint the movements of the weapon and body, as well as dust particles on the last two attacks.
