The Bone Chapel
The Sedlec Ossuary, aka The Bone Chapel, is an unusual and some would say macabre little chapel located in Kutná Hora, in the Czech Republic.
It contains around 40,000 to 70,000 human skeletons, arranged to form all the decorations and furnishings within the chapel.
What you see here is the coat of arms of the Schwarzenberg family, made with human bones from victims of the Black Death in the 14th century.
Very low light, with lots of people moving around in cramped conditions made any sort of photography quite a challenge in here. This was taken with the excellent wide angle Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, which as usual does not display its data correctly with Pentax for some reason.
