Khoboy Cape

The northernmost cape of Olkhon Island on lake Baikal is Khoboy cape that means “a fang, a molar” in Buryat language. The form of the cape really does look like a fang. But if you look at the cape sideways, it reminds of a woman’s profile; therefore it’s also called Deva Rock (Virgin Rock). From the earliest times Khoboy was considered to be a sacred place and served for performing religious rites.
