Its working life seemingly over, condemned Ex-GWR King Class 4-6-0 no. 6023 "King Edward lll" stands in a line of redundant steam locomotives at Woodhams Bros scrapyard, Barry Island, on 3rd March 1968. This loco' was eventually saved for preservation
