Rainbow Gradient
4a) The assignment was about recreating 4 pictures (my best one is above) from the design matrix. The purpose was to understand the difference between art and design by combining an element from each concept and using our imaginations to bring our pictures to life. We're all artists in any way, shape, or form.
4b) How I did this project was I used the pencil tool to try to recreate the line from my design matrix. What I did after was took the gradient and put that over my picture and when I did you couldn't see the lines at all. I put it backward and used the clipping mask tool and got rid of my black line. I then colored it to the rainbow as you see it now.
4c) I did this project the way I did was because even though I don't really know how to use Illustrator I still asked for help and I'm starting to understand the tools and what to add or take out of this project.
5a) My most difficult challenge in this project was drawing the pencil line to try to make it as accurate as I can from my matrix drawing. This part took the most time in my project as I kept restarting and erasing the lines and so on and so forth.
5b) However, I'm proud of the gradient as I tried to blend the colors together to make it mesmerizing to the viewers. It definitely catches my attention and I'm hoping it will catch all of yours. Overall I'm proud of the whole project because without the color it is just another line you see everyday, and without the line, what would the color be adding to this project? (In other words, why is it important that the color is just on the document and not something else to make it more interesting?)
5c) My work shows me as a beginner artist that I'm improving every project I will go. I'm starting to understand the tools a little bit better, and hopefully I'll get better after each project.
5d) This picture inspired me in a way where it reminds me of some of the problems and challenges I've overcame in my last 3 years of high school and up to this point. But I can't stop now as I venture and make Senior year count!
5e) As a learner and beginning artist, some of my strengths include the use of blending when putting the rainbow colors together on the gradient tool and how well it gives the picture meaning. My weakness would be how shaky and nervous I can be when faced with a difficult challenge (like in school or work) which represents the line I tried to make.
