Apartment Selfie

This picture shows my sister, her girlfriend, and myself. My blood relation with my sister resembles kinship, whereas my interactions (by choice and proximity) with her girlfriend resemble relatedness. I wonder in different cultures explicitly how that relationship would be defined.
