LDN 1089

This is a rarely photograhed object in Cepheus: LDN 1089. It is a dark molecular cloud of dust that is also surrounded by some Hydrogen Alpha filaments and other space dust. The nebula itself is also right next to a bright blue star that shines against its dusty neighbours.

LDN 1089 was discovered in the 1960’s and is 1.200 light years away.
