255 Hours on the Whirlpool Galaxy

We teamed up with 15 other astrophotographers to gather 255 hours of exposure time on the Whirlpool Galaxy. We have a full in-depth write-up available here: www.galactic-hunter.com/post/m51-the-whirlpool-galaxy so be sure to check it out!

M51 is a very popular object for both amateur and advanced astrophotographers, but it is near impossible to reveal some of its faintest features, such as the full range of the tidal stream, the faint ionized gas, and the blue stellar stream. Here, you can see it all!

Thank you to the entire Deep Sky Collective team for this fun project, and we have more to come in the future!
