Another shot of the Redhead that, surprisingly, as I later found out, wintered at various spots on the peninsula and in Victoria this past winter.

 

Our family went back on the weekend, hoping it was still at Beacon Hill Park, so they too could mark it down in their bird books. Though technically it can winter here according to the map, it is almost unheard of, and this loner caused quite a stir here as a result. I wonder if he will tell his buddies, and bring more of his kind this winter...
