Scenes like this remind me of where I grew up near 100 Mile House, BC; which is now on evacuation alert due to the out of control wildfire that started near 108 Mile House. One of the shots in the news with the sky filled with smoke behind a church, is where my sister was married. My parents still live on the outskirts of town, so it is of extra concern to me.
BC has now declared a state of emergency as 56 new fires started yesterday alone. The weekend is predicted to be dry and hot with the threat of new thunderstorms. It does not bode well for residents and firefighters.
