Get Wet & Try Not To Wipe Out !
I absolutely love being close to the water just for a piece of mind. Being able to inhale and exhale fresh air is one of my favorite stress relievers. The early bird gets the worm saying is actually accurate. One random Sunday morning in August of this year, I drove over to Black's Beach with my camera. Sitting on my blanket I see this killer wave ahead and this man riding the wave like a pro, so of course I capture the moment. After seeing him do his magic, he was nice enough to talk to me. Come to find out its famous Former World and U.S. Open Champion Clifton James “CJ” Hobgood. Talking to him and capturing that awesome inaction moment made my year. So cool, I will frame this in my house.
Fun Fact: My hometown of San Diego, California made the list. Listed number 41 on CNN's top surf beaches. One for seasoned professionals, Black’s Beach is one of the most powerful breaks in California and comes complete with strong currents, so is not suitable for beginners.
San Diego’s best surfers flock here, which should give you some idea of the frequency and quality of sets, but be warned -- it can get crowded at the weekend.
