Day 29/365
Tomorrow I have my first big deadline for my final year at art school. So, I painted eyes on my hands and hung upside down spouting nonsense whilst filming. I have agonized about these critique sessions for years, sometimes I have collaborated which helps relieve the pressure, sometimes I have been very brave and done things that I feared everyone would hate, sometimes I have shown secret things and other times I have shown things I made especially for critique. Last year I had a bad critique at the beginning of term and you know what? It wasn’t so bad. So, I begin this year with a ridiculous wee scrappy crappy enthusiastic playful thing, and if it is consumed by the fiery wrath of the terrifying Final Year professor group SO BE IT it has lived a good life in the friendly calm of my studio. I trashed my flat to make this silly wee thing and tomorrow we have a flat inspection :D Anyway, when I saw the mess I had made, with smeared, half washed eyes on my hands I just had to take a picture. Still trying to get the eyeliner off my camera...
