I noticed that this photo is lit in a way that invites the viewer to speculate on what these seemingly random shapes look like. The object itself sort of resembles a skull, but there are smaller shapes within it that could be anything. The lighting and the composition of the image work together to engage the viewer.

I find it interesting that this photo uses some of the same objects as the second photo in this gallery, but in the opposite way. While the other photo turned the idea of geometric form on its head, this one plays it normally. This idea of geometric "perfection" is emphasized by the hard divide of light and shadow present in the photo.

I like that this photo gives a wide variety of textures and shows the different ways that these objects react to light. The apple and the grapes reflect the light directly, resulting in sharp highlights, while the lemon absorbs the light in a softer way. The grape stem doesn't reflect the light at all.

I think there's a neat contrast of texture in this photo, as well as a distorted sense of scale. The softness of the lip balm itself contrasts with the hard shininess of its case. In addition, the placement of the two water bottles in the foreground and background throws off the viewer in an interesting way. It makes them initially unsure of how big these objects actually are.

I like that you managed to get a lot of interesting details out of multiple objects that were essentially the same. There's great focus on the dust on some of the pieces of chalk, and the wide depth of field allows for contrast (in terms of focus) for objects that are so similar, they couldn't be contrasted between otherwise. I also like the slight reflection of the objects on the table, because it gives you an idea of the table's texture.

I like how the placement of each object in this photo affects how recognizable it is to the viewer. The apple is placed very plainly in the light, and its form is easily recognized as that of an apple. The object below it, though, it partially concealed by shadow, so it becomes harder to identify. The objects on the left are especially hard to recognize, because their forms are made obscure or out of focus.

I like the wide depth of field in this photo, because it makes the object feel more real rather than a two-dimensional image. I also notice that the good lighting/editing of this photo makes it seem as if there's no "crease" that connects the "wall" of the background to the "floor," which in turn avoids distracting the viewer from the focal point of the image.
